About Jonathan Hertz, M.D.
Dr. Jonathan A. Hertz is the Medical Director of the Behavioral Health Program at Mountainside Medical Center. He earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Public Health (MPH) degrees from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, MA, and holds a Master of Science in Community Health from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
Dr. Hertz's extensive training includes an internship in Medicine at Cambridge Hospital, followed by residency in Adult Psychiatry at Cambridge Hospital. He has further specialized in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, completing both an extension course and a fellowship at the Psychoanalytic Society of New England and the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. He also completed a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Children's Hospital Boston and a fellowship in Public Psychiatry at the New York State Psychiatric Institute. Dr. Hertz has been a candidate in psychoanalytic programs at both the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute and the William Alanson White Institute.
Board-certified in Adult Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Hertz brings a comprehensive approach to mental health, combining clinical expertise with a strong foundation in psychoanalysis and public psychiatry.
